Information for Core Content Team Member Application

Background Information

Illinois educators can apply to be a member of a Core Content Team that will review and revise the high school learning standards. These teams will be created in three areas: English language arts, mathematics, and science. Each team will consist of 15 to 18 members from secondary and postsecondary institutions.

Team Meetings

Teams for English language arts and mathematics will meet as follows:

• Full-day meeting: January 27, 2009
• Two-day meeting: February 26–27, 2009
• Two-day meeting: June 25–26, 2009

Teams for science will begin meeting in June 2009.

The meeting sites will be determined later and will be based on a convenient location for all participants.

Covered Expenses

Travel expenses—including meals, mileage, and hotel—will be covered for each meeting. In addition, funds for substitutes will be provided for classroom teachers.
