Beyond the BellŪ continues to be a trusted, timely resource for afterschool program managers. The 2005 edition of the Toolkit comes with a complimentary CD-ROM, 5 Staff Workbooks, and exclusive access to the Beyond the Bell website.

The Toolkit is a practical, easy-to-use resource for afterschool managers and site coordinators. It features expanded information and 82 tools for implementing a successful afterschool program. Chapters focus on management, communication, evaluation, linkages with the school day, collaboration and community building, parent and family involvement, and staff development through program design and delivery.

The CD-ROM presents video clips highlighting four afterschool programs that successfully link activities to the school day. It also includes a Microsoft Word version of all of the tools in the toolkit that can be customized and printed.

The Staff Workbook is designed for afterschool staff development. It provides tools, tips, and examples to help afterschool staff develop and implement activities for academic enrichment, recreation, and homework help.

Included with the Toolkit is exclusive access to the Beyond the Bell website for registered users. The website provides online access to a PDF version of all of the tools contained in the Toolkit plus additional tools and a discussion forum where afterschool practitioners can talk about their programs and upload tools of their own for others to use. All programs that purchase a Beyond the Bell Toolkit receive a free two-year subscription to the Beyond the Bell website.
